LOCAL

We truly care for our communities and we believe we can show that by being the hands and feet of Jesus. Below are some of the ways that we serve our local communities.

Love In Action

Love in Action (LIA) is a Grand Haven–based organization that serves the Tri-Cities area, and we are grateful to partner with them in several meaningful ways.

One of our primary partnerships is through a weekly food pantry hosted at our church on Monday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to noon. This pantry provides short-term relief to members of our community facing food insecurity. LIA supplies the food for the pantry and works closely with us to connect guests with additional resources and support as needed.

We also occasionally host LIA’s Empower U classes at our Spring Lake campus. These classes equip participants with practical life skills while fostering confidence, stability, and dignity. In addition, we collaborate with LIA and other local churches through the Housing Ministry Collaborative (HMC), a program designed to assist individuals and families with housing needs and promote long-term stability.

Love In the Name of Christ

Love INC of Muskegon County is a local ministry serving the Muskegon County area, and we are grateful to partner with them in a variety of impactful ways.

At our Muskegon campus, we host Love INC’s New Directions classes, which equip participants with practical life skills while, above all, pointing them to Jesus. These classes are designed to foster growth, stability, and lasting transformation.

Each December, we also host Love INC’s Christmas Store. This is more than a free shopping experience—participants earn points through program involvement and use those points to purchase Christmas gifts for their loved ones. The store preserves dignity, encourages stewardship, and allows parents and caregivers to provide meaningful gifts for their families.

In addition, we work closely with Love INC throughout the year to help meet tangible needs in the Muskegon community, including housing assistance, accessibility ramps, and other practical support as needs arise.

Kids Hope

One child. One hour. One day a week. Kids Hope USA builds life-changing relationships by connecting caring, committed adults with children identified by teachers as needing extra academic or social support. Through consistent, one-on-one mentoring, students receive encouragement, stability, and hope.

Our Spring Lake campus is proud to partner with Jeffers Elementary School, and our Muskegon campus is equally proud to partner with Bunker Elementary School. Together, we are serving students right here in our own community. When children feel known, loved, and valued, they are better equipped to learn, grow, and thrive. There’s no better place to make a lasting difference than close to home.

Hand2Hand

Many families in Ottawa County and Muskegon County rely on free or reduced-price school lunches during the week but face food insecurity over the weekend. Hand2Hand is a West Michigan food backpack program that helps bridge that gap by providing nutritious, kid-friendly meals for children to take home each Friday. The program partners with local churches and schools to ensure students have the resources they need when school is not in session.
We are honored to partner with Jeffers Elementary School in Spring Lake and Bunker Elementary School in Muskegon. Together, we anticipate packing and delivering 150 backpacks each week to support students and their families.

WRAP Around Ministry

Our WRAP Around Ministry exists to resource, support, and encourage families who are pursuing foster care or adoption—as well as those who are prayerfully considering that step. We come alongside families at every stage of the journey, offering guidance, connection, and practical support.

Throughout the year, we occasionally host a variety of meaningful events and provide helpful resources to demonstrate our care. These include respite nights for parents, donation drives to meet tangible needs, and gatherings that are both fun and informative—designed to build community and strengthen families.

If you are a foster or adoptive family, or if you’re interested in supporting foster and adoptive families, we would love to connect with you. Please contact [email protected] for more information.

Jail and Prison

We are honored to partner with local jail and prison ministries, offering ongoing support to the life-changing work they are doing in our region. Our local jail ministry partner is Reach the Forgotten Ministries. Our prison ministry partners include Prison Fellowship and Fresh Coast Alliance.

Each of these ministries is making a profound impact—bringing hope and transformation to those who are incarcerated and helping raise up leaders both inside and beyond prison walls. Through prayer, volunteer engagement, and practical support, we come alongside these programs in a variety of ways throughout the year.

Upward Sports

Upward Sports provides elementary-aged children with the opportunity to participate in sports leagues they might not otherwise have access to. We are proud to partner with Upward to create a fun, encouraging, and Christ-centered environment for kids and their families in our community.

Through this program, we not only help children grow in athletic skills, but also in teamwork, humility, character, and healthy relationships. At the same time, we intentionally and boldly share the love of Christ with the families we serve. We currently offer a fall basketball season and are excited about the possibility of expanding to additional sports in the near future.
